So I re-installed the latest VLC as of today (vlc-3 0 17 3-intel64) for good measure, and tried again But no luck -- still the instant 100% CPU spike I would really love to solve this as I prefer to VLC over any other media player, but cannot use it with this issue

It's really annoying It seems sometimes it does save, others it doesn't when I close up the player it just forgets them some settings eventually stick after a few tries but many don't Configuring the skins was really hard too Some I can't get even VLC to remember at all: random play, visualizations, msn "now playing", etc

Windows video player works flawless with the same content In order to try and understand better what is happening I created a screen capture at 60 fps of my desktop (using OBS) while the video was playing This then lets me playback frame by frame the full view of my monitor at the time of the problematic playback

I have the same problem here with VLC 2 0 5 on win 7 : I Select a list of random medias to play (a list of songs, ), and want to play it on random It does play some on random, but then before the whole list is effectively played, it stops

Have an older version of VLC Media Player installed - v2 2 1 when I go Help>Check for Updates, it brings up a screen stating there is a later version available, but after clicking Yes to Download, it looks like it Starts to Download, but then it crashes Thinking this may be Blocked on our Corporate Firewall or another security application

I was checking today again if by any chance VLC has enabled mac display profiles support so that we could actually use it on a Mac system Sadly it is still not color managed by default (meaning that 100% modern mac users are still getting wrong oversaturated colors) However I've found hidden in the extended preferences a pane for display output modules - OSx tab which has the settings

These are working fine in VLC I can hover on the timeline and see them as well as jump forward backward and they show in the menu under Playback > Chapter What I want to know is whether there is a way to display markers on the timeline progress bar such as vertical bars or alternating shading so it's apparent there are chapters
