- Do you think the animation software Presto will one day be . . . - Reddit
From my understanding, Presto is not an animation software on its own but rather a Pixar-developed add-on for studio-specific purposes needed at a company like Pixar developed to work with softwares like Maya
- Anyone from pixar, how good is Presto? : r vfx - Reddit
Regardless that’s one studio and I have worked at places with way better focus on good, empowering software for artists and generally were successful It’s a hard momentum to keep pushing money into as the industry keeps moving forward the new tech of today gets stale tommorow or an hour later
- What software is this? PLEASE! I’ve been searching for weeks.
im trying to make a running animation for a game im making but i feel like theres somthing to missing to make it feel more lively and i dont know what it is (this is my first time doing animation this year after like 4 years of being a newbi so keep that in mind)
- Why Maya is the software of choice for character rigging and animation . . .
The rigging and animation half was kept proprietary, becoming its current in-house software called Presto The core libraries of its scene setup and layout toolkit were extracted and released to the public as an open source project under the name Universal Scene Description or USD
- r animation on Reddit: Id like to make animations what software should . . .
Once you know the basics, software will be a piece of cake As for software there are freeware out there for 2d there's Krita, Blender etc If you are going to apply for a job in a studio, do some research on which software are industry standard, ie harmony, Maya Remember, software is a tool
- What programming language was used to make Presto? : r Pixar - Reddit
Most large software packages use a number of programming languages and I’m sure Presto does too, but most of the core infrastructure and UI components for Presto and Renderman are written in C++ I know this because I interviewed to work at Pixar (as a software engineer) and got through multiple rounds so I talked a good deal with their team
- Pixars Animation Software, RenderMan, is Responsible for 27 . . . - Reddit
Companies finally realized that charging for student editions hurt them in the long run as it put a barrier of enter in front of them I still remember back in the day pirating 3D Studio Max because a student edition cost up to $800 Now you can basically find any major software offering free education software packages
- Premo Software : r DreamWorks - Reddit
This software exists but not very much for public consumption I guess this is because DreamWorks (the developer) regards Premo as part of their intellectual property If anyone is to learn its basics s he must be an artist-to-be for DreamWorks
- Pixar Studio Software (presto, marionette) : r computergraphics - Reddit
We've heard of this software since the 90's but Pixar has traditionally been tight lipped about it since, as in we knew it existed but Pixar never really allowed for the tool to be shown like this (that I have seen) This (to me) is almost like seeing a unicorn
- Good free animation software for PC? : r animation - Reddit
Blender (3D animation, 2D frame by frame) After Effects (Motion Graphics) Toon Boom (rigged 2d animation) If you have trouble with a specific app or program, you are often more likely to find help in the respective subreddit of that program This comment was posted because the word "app", "software" or "program" was found in your post
