I can't speak for all plugins in XIVLauncher, but I can definitely say XIVAlexander isn't dodgy at all and what it does is make ping irrelevant So on east coast or west coast US has the same weaving capability Just wanted to make that clear so people don't get the wrong idea of what the tool actually is

I’m still having issues I’m somewhat technologically challenged, but I tried going to the “about” section and can’t find the link to the official launcher Also apparently there’s an update to xivlauncher, but i went to the discover store and didn’t see any way to patch update the launcher Any help is appreciated!

Just download XIVlauncher and you can take a peek at the list but here are some good ones: SimpleTweaks offers a lot of QoL features Orchestrion lets you change the music to whatever you want DelvUI if you are used to ElvUI from WoW

First time setup Running the game Run XIVLauncher in Steam Once XIVLauncher has opened, click the Gear icon in the bottom left if you need to set the game data path, OTP macro, etc (Use the mount location above for the data path if you’re installing to the MicroSD ) After changing settings, click the check mark Input your username and password, click login, and let XIVLauncher install

XIVLauncher has a good reputation for being an alternative and hasn't done bad things at all If you're this worried about it then don't use it and just vibe with the regular launcher

If you use FFXIVQuickLauncher and don't want to install XivAlexander but still want it to launch automatically, open XIVLauncher configuration, navigate to Auto-Launch tab, click on Add new button, find XivAlexanderLoader64 exe, and set -a load as Command line parameters
